A Dragon Age Character Gets A Publishing Deal For His Novel!

We rarely hear that a video game character gets a publishing deal for their work.

Varric might be familiar to you if you played Dragon Age 2 or Inquisition. His novel, Hard in Hightown, even got a side-mission where your goal is to stop its imitators and their bootleg writing. In Dragon Age: Inquisition, you can find it across 19 chapters (each with 250-300 words), but if you don’t want to look for them in-game, you are lucky.

Dark Horse Books announced that Varric Tethras‘ work (with additional help by Mark Kirby of Bioware) will be available in book format by the end of July, with distribution by Penguin Random House!

The publisher says it’ll be a 96-page book with 24 of them having artwork on it, and the novel will likely be extended, because we can’t see 19×300 words (averaged…) fill 72 pages in normal font size.

The book will cost ~20 dollars, which means Dragon Age fans can acquire another item for their collection without spending much money.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
