PlayStation 5: Sony Could Surprise Its Rivals!

Sony might time the announcement just right to strike back at Nintendo and Microsoft.

Express writes that despite the PlayStation 4 (Slim) and the PlayStation 4 Pro selling well, Sony might somewhat hurt the sales of the Nintendo Switch and the Xbox One X by announcing the PlayStation 5 this year!

Damian Thong, Macquarie Capital Securities’ analyst, believes that Sony could go one step further and even RELEASE the next-generation PlayStation (not naming it as PlayStation 5, weird…) as early as the second half of 2018, which would be a massive shocker, as the console isn’t even announced yet! Remember, the PlayStation 4’s reveal happened in early 2013!

Thong might be onto something: last week, we wrote about how third-party developers might have received devkits for the next-gen console. When will Sony attack? E3? PlayStation Experience? Gamescom? Tokyo Game Show?
