Kevin Bruner says that Telltale has allegedly breached the contract.
Bruner, who was already with the company when it was founded in 2004, left the episodic developer game company in March 2017 – he acted as CEO from January 2015. He did not leave the past behind, as he now sues them for alleged breach of contract!
Marin Independent Journal writes that Bruner filed the lawsuit in February, but it is heavily redacted due to confidentiality and financial privacy. He claims that after Lionshead’s investment in 2015, some of the board members were lobbying to change Telltale’s business model, as well as trying to get rid of him as CEO. „The net effect of Bruner’s alleged removal from the board of directors was that Bruner was deprived of relevant insight into the management and financial state of Telltale and the value of its shares,” the lawsuit says.
Telltale reacted to it by saying this lawsuit is „meritless,” and it’s „an apparent means of extracting revenge on a company already under financial strain. The company is now working to turn around the decline that it experienced under plaintiff’s stewardship,” Telltale‘s filing says. An employee said that they were making games to Bruner’s liking from gameplay elements to tone and even some characters…
The case will return to court on July 17.
