Is PlayStation Now Getting A Download Function?

Well, well, well… it seems Xbox Game Pass is affecting PlayStation to change their service!

PlayStation Now is a service where you can stream PlayStation titles. For example, you can play a PlayStation 3 game on your PlayStation 4, if you have a fast enough Internet connection. This subscription service might be expanding, possibly due to Microsoft’s success…

On Reddit, the new PlayStation Now pause menu showed up. Taking a break for reasons like visiting the toilet is understandable – however, this image shows a function we haven’t seen before. A „Download Game” option for a streaming service? That’s new; there might be something happening shortly…

Although that function doesn’t work yet, it’s likely meant to be a competitor to Xbox Game Pass, which, for a monthly fee, allows you to download exclusive games, such as Forza Horizon 4, when they launch. It’s possible that the Download Game option will be used for PlayStation 4 titles, as the PlayStation 3 architecture is different from the PS4‘s.

Sony is responding to its rivals move, which is benefiting us, the customers.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
