We finally learned something about the PS4 version of Metro: Exodus – so far the Xbox One version got the focus, which isn’t surprising because the game showed up exclusively on the Microsoft Press Conference for the second time since it’s announcement.
4A Games have a good relationship with Microsoft for a long time now. The studio has PC origins (they worked under GSC on the Stalker games) and their first ever console title was Metro 2033, but it was only released on Xbox 360. The series only went to multiplatform after that with Metro: Last Light. As for Metro: Exodus, it was announced last year at Microsoft’s Press Conference, and this year we saw a short trailer for it as well at Xbox E3.
We know more about the Xbox version, but don’t worry, the PS4 version will be just as good in terms of resolution and fluidity as well, according to Huw Beynon, who was interviewed by Gaming Bolt recently. Huw Beynon works for Deep Silver, the current publisher behind the Metro series. He didn’t share more specific information though.
However, he added that they are not planning to release the game on Switch. They focus heavily on the current versions anyway and also it’s more than possible that Nintendo’s hybrid console wouldn’t able to handle a modern game with this level of simulation complexity that Metro: Exodus has.
Metro: Exodus will release next year, February 22th, on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
