A few cheaters tried to sell games that came from unofficial sources…
The issue sprung up on Reddit: there were sales for Frostpunk and Surviving Mars on Amazon, and both titles were coming from illegal files. Frostpunk, which was sold for three dollars, used a GOG installer, which fact was hidden by a custom installer (where the name Ace Media Group LLC came up).
CodependentlyWealthy says that the uninstaller doesn’t work, and „GOG-specific metadata files and [the] Galaxy64.dll” remained in the install directory, which is a massive mistake the culprits have made.
Haemimont Games said on Twitter that they didn’t approve for their game, Surviving Mars, to be sold for four dollars, and they added that the updates wouldn’t work with this version. They also said that anyone who has purchased the game this way should contact Amazon for a refund, as others have successfully done so according to their information.
Since then, Amazon has removed these suspicious listings, which was bound to happen. The cheaters have likely earned close to no money, making the whole ordeal pointless…

Hi. This is not a sale we’ve approved and we’re suspect of the legality of it. We can confirm that no updates will work with it and we’d advise steering clear of it.
We try to post about any legit deals on our profile, so if you’re interested in the game, just follow us. 🙂
