God of War sells extremely well and Sony is very satisfied with it.
Sony recently held its usual financial conference where a lot of analysis and investors were brought together. Hiroki Totoki, Sony’s financial director shared some interesting pieces of information regarding PlayStation games.
First and foremost, most of Sony’s profit came from video games in the entire fiscal year. The sales grew too, especially because of Sony Santa Monica’s fantastic God of War, which surpassed the expectations, alongside with other games from the publisher. Aside from these, Sony was satisfied with their E3 third-party titles as well.
Totoki also talked about why PlayStation Plus sales dropped in the last quarter. According to him, the drop was minimal – which is true – and the reason behind it was the multiplayer games that were given with the subscription. But the spike in the subscriptions is already stabilized since then.
