Techland also wants a piece of the battle royale-pie.
You can access the game via Steam Early Access from September where it will cost twenty dollars. However, when the game quits Early Access (and, at the same time, shows up on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One), Dying Light: Bad Blood turns over to a free-to-play model. For our money, we will get three legendary weapon skins, a legendary mask, 1000 blood bucks (the game’s currency), and three exclusive legendary skins in three months. (So, in other words, mostly cosmetic bonuses aside from the early access.)
Those who previously registered to try the game out will be able to do so in the Global Playtest. The emails with the Steam keys are being sent out from August 22. The Playtest will be in two phases. Quoting the press release:
„Phase One grant a limited number of players who signed up access to the game on August 25th, 09:00 AM PDT until August 26th, 09:00 PM PDT. This phase will allow developers to test the infrastructure, matchmaking mechanics and various other crucial parts of the game.
Phase Two grants access to the game to all players that have signed up for the Global Playtest. It starts on September 1st, 09:00 AM PDT and lasts until September 2nd, 09:00 PM PDT. This phase is meant to validate data gathered during Phase One and generate further feedback on the game, including common issues and bugs before Steam Early Access launch. Everyone taking part in the Global Playtests will be able to transfer their progress to the Early Access version of the game.” You will need a Techland account, too!
Twelve players competing for survival, mixed with Dying Light‘s gameplay, sounds good on paper.
