Even BioWare noted a difference between Spider-Man‘s E3 build and the retail version – that puddle became part of a bit of a scandal…
Previously, we discussed how James Stevenson, Spider-Man‘s developer Insomniac Games‘ community manager, defended the team by saying how the game did not get graphically downgraded. We’ll let the reader decide, and move on to talk about the comments by BioWare at PAX West. Michael Gamble, a lead producer, talked about the visual change: „In this screenshot — there is a lot to unpack here — but most importantly, you’ll see that there is a puddle in the ground right in the middle there. So before we move on, there’s a 98% chance that puddle is gonna be changed, moved, reduced…”
The screenshot in question is the Anthem one which you can see below. Under it, you can see the comparison of the E3 puddle in Spider-Man and the final version. You should see the difference. In the video, Gamble’s joke can be heard – the crowd laughed before Gamble finished his comment.
Spider-Man will launch on September 7, and BioWare’s new information about Anthem (such as the demo release date) will be discussed today separately in detail.
