It looks like the shooting that happened in Jacksonville will have more consequences.
EA held a Madden championship a week ago in Jacksonville where, unfortunately, a shooting happened and two people died while some other people got injured. The incident shocked the people of the city and the whole gaming world.
Jacob Mitich is one of the people who got injured – he got shot two times- now he is suing EA because of their negligence. It’s not known how much money Mitich is asking for, however, James Young (attorney) said that Mititch “trusted the event host and organisers, and believed that he was walking into a safe space.”
“That trust was shattered when shots rang out in an over-crowded, since-shut-down, non-permitted space,” Young continued. “Combined with an alleged abject failure to provide adequate security, the result was tragic.”
EA responded with the following: “At this time, we are fully focused on supporting the victims and all those affected by this tragic event.” Last week it emerged that EA is donating 1 million dollars to the victims of the shooting.
