Te mentioned tattoo has already got deleted from the game.
Scum just released recently on PC as an early access title. It’s a multiplayer game with a heavy focus on narrative and on survival elements. Unlike other survival games, it’s really hardcore in this regard, there are a lot of different gameplay mechanisms regarding survival.
The game is a very big success, however, Devolver Digital had to explain themselves lately after Polygon noticed that there was a tattoo in the game that’s commonly associated with Nazi and neo-Nazi groups. It wasn’t in the game anymore, because Devolver Digital got rid of it and they also reacted to this in an official statement.
“We do not agree with use of this symbology or any hateful content, regardless of intention. The use of the tattoo was intended to assist in portraying a realistic element of prison culture and the horrid elements within it. This content has been patched out, and Devolver Digital are currently conducting a full review of all assets and content in the game with Gamepires.”
“We strongly condemn any and all use of hateful symbology in our games and agree it should have never been in the game regardless of creative intent or realism. Devolver Digital apologises unreservedly.”
