Although Sony has taken a hairpin turn towards cross-play, Bethesda‘s game will not have it.
Bethesda announced that Fallout 76‘s „Break-It Early Test Application” (B.E.T.A. for short, but we’ll call it a beta, even though the full game will be available then…) will launch on October 23 on the Xbox One. The PlayStation 4 and the PC can start from October 30 up to a few days before the game’s launch – you have to pre-order the game to participate in the „beta.” The servers won’t run 24/7 – they will be up for four to eight hours a day to have as many people play Fallout 76 possible, which is why the beta could be called a stress test.
Todd Howard’s next game will take roughly 45 GB on your hard drive going by the FAQ, but there will be no beta pre-load unless Bethesda changes it in the next few weeks. We think they’ll change this approach.
Fallout 76 will be out on November 14 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Have a look at the opening movie…

Folks, chill. I work with a lot of devs and games for whom this is important going forward.
Fallout 76 does not support crossplay, for a number of reasons. I have no idea if it ever will. But I assure you it is not on our radar right now as we focus on B.E.T.A. and Launch.
