Wall Street Journal claims that the Nintendo might give a stronger Nintendo Switch the green flag shortly.
WSJ cited „suppliers and others with direct knowledge of the plan” that Nintendo would release a new Nintendo Switch model in the second half of 2019. The big N is currently considering new hardware and software features, and due to these modifications, the costs are also being considered as well.
One such update could be changing the display: currently, the Nintendo Switch has a lower-end LCD with fewer features than the current smartphones’, but the new, 2019 model might update to an OLED display panel that is used by the Apple iPhone X.
Nintendo’s representative, as expected, did not comment on the rumour, but we should believe such a trusty publication. By the second half of 2019, the Nintendo Switch will be 2.5 years old, so we’re going to be curious to see if there will be a „New” model with more power, similarly to the 3DS, or not…
