After Fallout: New Vegas, don’t pin your hopes on Obsidian developing another Fallout title…
A fan asked on Twitter if there’s a chance of Obsidian working together with Bethesda again to create a new Fallout game. The answer is anything but hopeful, as the image says „Very doubtful” – that’s not sounding like a „yes,” now does it?
However, Obsidian is not against the notion – in 2013, they already expressed their desires of creating Fallout: New Vegas 2, and even in 2017, Feargus Urquhart, Obsidian‘s CEO, has stated that he would „love to do another Fallout.” It’s up to Bethesda to take the offer, but seeing how they are just a month away from launching Fallout 76, a game that they plan with for years, Obsidian might be left in the dust.
All we can do now is wait for Obsidian‘s next game, which is going to be published by Take-Two’s Private Division label… or not, as Microsoft is rumoured to acquire Obsidian to make them join the „greens’” ever-growing team.
