Ubisoft announced on its forums that multiple games will see its online services cease to work.
Ubisoft detailed what the server shutdown means: „The multiplayer online services for the title will be shut down, but the solo features will remain available. Any In-game News and Player Stats services will be shut down. For Uplay-enabled games, the service will no longer be available for the game on consoles; Units (Uplay currency) and Actions for the game will be disabled – you will no longer be able to earn Units by completing Actions for the game; rewards will be disabled in-game – you can still unlock them, but you will not receive them. […]
The ULC (unlockable, downloadable content) will be disabled – you will no longer be able to unlock them. On PC, even if you have redeemed them, the ULC will no longer be available. On consoles, the ULC will be available until you decide to reset your saved game files. Players having in-game currency should use it within the 60 days period. There won’t be any refund on unused in-game currency.”
Let’s see the affected games that will see the servers shut down on November 19: Just Dance 2018, 2017 and 2016 (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii), Just Dance 2015 and 2014 (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, PS3, X360, Wii), I Am Alive (PC), Tom Clancy’s EndWar (PC), Splinter Cell: Double Agent (PC), Assassin’s Creed II (Mac), and Rayman 3 HD (PS3, X360). Just Dance 2018 sold better on the Wii than on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, or the Wii U!
Even the PC cannot avoid its past being somewhat wiped.
