Is The Legend Of Zelda Getting An Animated Series?

MOVIE NEWS – The rumours say that the executive producer behind Netflix‘ Castlevania animated series (which recently received its second season) might be leading the Zelda series, too…

The Legend of Zelda previously got a thirteen-episode animated series by DiC in 1989, and the only thing we remember from it is Link saying WELL EXCUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSE ME, PRINCESS! to Zelda whenever she did something Link didn’t like. It’d be easy to make a better series than DiC did…

TheWrap reports that Adi Shankar, the executive producer behind the Netflix Castlevania series, has finished talks with Nintendo about turning Link into an animated series. In an Instagram post, Shankar wrote the following: „I can confirm that I’m working with an iconic Japanese gaming company to adopt one of their iconic video game series into a series. On November 16 at 1:00 p.m., I’m going to announce what it is. I love you all. Thank you for following me on this journey. Entertaining you guys continues to be a privilege.” The caption he used for the post is „The success of Castlevania created this opportunity.”

Nintendo doesn’t comment on the subject, but if we think about it, there are not many „iconic Japanese gaming companies” – it’s either Sony or Nintendo, so there aren’t many possibilities!
