PlayStation 4 reached its fifth birthday (it launched on November 15 in the United States!)…
Sony released several new details about the PlayStation 4. For example, we know that they sold 86.1 million units in its lifetime so far. That figure is already higher than the PlayStation 3‘s lifetime sales (83 million), and it’s not far behind the PS2‘s 87 million in its first five years, which means the PS4 is not a long way behind the record-keeping console! 777.9 million games were sold, which means a console has an average of slightly more than nine games.
The five best-selling games? Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Call of Duty: WWII, FIFA 17, FIFA 18, Grand Theft Auto V. (Is the PlayStation 4-userbase this much into football?) The five most popular titles? Call of Duty: Black Ops III, FIFA 17, FIFA 18, Fortnite, Grand Theft Auto V. The five most downloaded PlayStation Plus games? Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Destiny 2, Dead by Daylight, Just Cause 3, Mafia III.
Decent results from Sony – if the developers continue to support the PlayStation 4 for a while, then the PS4 will also be able to sell more than 100 million units, something that the PS2 managed to achieve. Right now, it seems the PS4 can pull it off. Congratulations!
