A movie poster seems to have copied Naughty Dog‘s idea almost down to a tee!
First, Rob Trench wrote on Twitter about how the artwork of the 2013’s PlayStation 3 game (which got a PlayStation 4 version shortly after) got copied by last year’s What Still Remains, a Netflix-film by Josh Mendoza. „Hey, can I copy your homework? Yeah, just make sure you change it a little so it isn’t obvious you copied,” Trench wrote. Here are the images.
Although the poster hasn’t been used for months (we wonder why…), Neil Druckmann, The Last Of Us‘ director, found it on Twitter. His reaction says it all: „Hold on… is this for real? ?” And the below-embedded YouTube trailer’s comments also deserve a shoutout. We’ll quote a few of them: „The Last of Us? Is that you?”, „the movie cover looks like the last of us game :)”, „The Last of Us”.
So the movie that has been available for months got into the news, but not with a positive connotation. Congratulations, golf clap! Perhaps next time, a more creative person should be hired to deal with marketing…
