Multiple things might be missing from this year’s Call of Duty (which isn’t officially announced yet!) that were already part of last year’s Black Ops IIII.
GamingIntel – based on a „reliable source with Call of Duty information” – reports that Infinity Ward might be skipping a few modes that Treyarch, the devs of last year’s instalment, have added to Call of Duty. The Specialist characters (which were called Divisions in Call of Duty: WWII) might be missing in Call of Duty 2019, which is rumoured to be Modern Warfare 4, with a potential „back to basics” approach, going for a basic loadout system in the multiplayer.
There will be no battle royale either, and it’s likely that the Zombies mode will also be left out. Then again, Infinity Ward has had this game mode in only one of their games (2016’s Infinite Warfare) in the past 10+ years. However, GamingIntel adds that there will be some sort of a co-op mode, which will possibly be an expanded version of Modern Warfare 3’s Survival Mode, which replaced zombies with humans who attacked in waves.
Of course, everything mentioned above isn’t confirmed yet, so take them with the usual grain of salt. Is this Activision‘s method to cash in this year? (As they have lost Bungie with Destiny, they need to find something else…)
