Stormregion‘s game is getting a coat of fresh paint – S.W.I.N.E. is still a cult game in Hungary, known by many!
S.W.I.N.E., the name of the game itself, is a hint at one of the factions (the pigs), but it actually stands for Strategic Warfare In A Nifty Environment. It was a real-time strategy which was launched in late 2001 on PC. It got quite positive reviews in Hungary (89%, 91%, 97% are the ratings we could find from three of four – at the time active – PC gaming magazines.) It was decent for its time, and it had a lot of humour as well – it managed to show that you don’t have to be entirely serious with a strategy game.
It is now getting an HD version – S.W.I.N.E. HD is being developed by Kite Games, a Hungarian developer team and multiple people from the original team is helping in the remastering process. The publisher will be Assemble Entertainment, and the game will be available this Spring on Steam.
It will have a new user interface, higher resolution, better textures, as well as the unmissable multiplayer support aside from the two sides of the campaign, meaning that the 2019 version will try to have everything that made the 2001 version oh-so-memorable.
The teaser doesn’t say much; don’t judge by only that! Pig, or rabbit?
