While Ubisoft planned to reveal its new Ghost Recon game today, it seems we can talk early about it.
GamePressure and the ResetEra forums all talk about the new Ghost Recon, which we didn’t really know before its official announcement (aside from it being shown to the public on May 9). Well, we can all forget it, which is a pretty hilarious misstep from Ubisoft: perhaps they should do something about the leaks.
The game’s title is Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, and – here’s when we shake our heads – it is set to launch on October 4 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. (It falls on a Friday, so it makes sense.) Its main antagonist is called Cole D. Walker, who is played by Jon Bernthal. He has gone rogue with an army of weaponized drones. The new Ghost Recon game is planned to be a story-driven four-player cooperative experience, meaning Ubisoft would continue what they started with Ghost Recon: Wildlands.
Of course, there’s an expensive limited edition as well: the Ubi Store-exclusive „Wolves Collectors Edition” (which was noticed by Reddit, saying how it was listed prematurely) would come with a 24-centimetre figurine of Cole, a map, an art book, a Year 1 season pass, an „Ultimate Pack” (which contains missions, vehicles, cosmetics, and early class unlocks), and, unsurprisingly, it would come with three days early access, meaning players could play the game from October 1. (Ubisoft tends to do this early access thing a lot with its AAA titles.)
The official announcement comes later today. We’ll likely get back to the game tomorrow. Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is thus set to launch on October 4 (or October 1…) on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
