Red Dead Redemption 2, which came out last autumn on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (becoming a cash cow for both Rockstar Games and the publisher, Take-Two since), might follow Grand Theft Auto V’s example in making a tour to the PC, but with a slightly delay from the console versions, which would be interesting, as the first game never got ported over! Red Dead Redemption 2 For PC was just a dream so far.
VG247 wrote last June that a former programmer of Rockstar Leeds (who worked there until 2016, working on LA Noire, as well as Grand Theft Auto V), listed Red Dead Redemption 2 (which hasn’t come out yet at that time) on PC as well. Of course, the person got caught, and he took down the said platform for Western adventures since then.
However, Reddit found yet another sign that Rockstar and Take-Two might silently bring Red Dead Redemption 2 over to the PC. Nan Ma’s LinkedIn profile lists the game for PC as well – he was previously a physics programmer at Rockstar Games Toronto for nearly six and a half years, and he worked on Max Payne 3 and Grand Theft Auto V as well before founding a VR studio called Future Immersive. There’s also a screencap of his profile, which we include after the usual sentence: the Internet never forgets…
Of course, it’s suspicious that both people were at Rockstar until 2016, so it means that AT THAT TIME, they could have planned Red Dead Redemption 2 for the PC as well (and not just the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One), but they probably had second thoughts, dropping the port in the process. (It would make sense, though: the first Red Dead Redemption never showed up on PC, aside from emulation, which starts to gain a foothold…)
