A torchlight in Todd Howard’s game, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Literally.
There are probably many stories where a friend thought they’ll beat a game using only one move or weapon (let’s not get into further details…), but even this challenge has levels… Here’s an example: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which came out in Fall 2011 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, followed later by a PlayStation 4, an Xbox One, and a Nintendo Switch port, got beaten by torches only…
Mitten Squad first arrested themselves to acquire a torch, which was then followed by grinding the Block skill to increase the attack power of the torch. On level 50, they got the Deadly Bash perk to increase the attack power five-fold. Of course, the torch bashing requires stamina, so it was slow for the most part until the vegetable soup got added into the mix. It regenerates one HP and stamina point every second for 12 minutes (giving you a max of 720 HP and stamina points). The torch bash takes only one stamina point, and it also staggers even dragons, so you can guess how this story ends.
Sure, there are enemies where you are forced to use something other than a torch, but that’s Bethesda Game Studios hard-wiring the game, so using something else in those moments is plausible. You can’t 100% torch only Skyrim, but that’d be a nice thing. (It’s still funny to see how much you can kill with just a torch, though.)
So grab a drink in this heatwave (in Europe at least), sit back, and just enjoy the video below for some comical moments.
