The creator of Metal Gear and Death Stranding, Hideo Kojima is hinting at something suspicious.
Four years after his split from Konami, Hideo Kojima seems to tease a project that could have been created at his previous workplace before. He was working on Silent Hills – in the cancelled new Silent Hill title, Norman Reedus and Guillermo del Toro would have played a role, but they both ended up in Death Stranding. The question in the title popped up because of below tweet.
„As to make the scariest horror game, I’ll watch the scary movies to awaken my horror soul. THE EYE is the Thai horror movie I rent when making PT but was too scary to finish watching. The package is scary so I rented the disc only. Will I be able to finish watching?”, Kojima wrote. We have to mention that The Eye (not the 2008 American remake but the original, made in 2002!) is not a Thai creation. It was directed by the Pang brothers from Hong Kong. However, part of the film is indeed set in Thailand.
We don’t know what Kojima could be doing, as in 2017, he said that he doesn’t plan to return to the horror genre. Still, P.T., the playable teaser of Silent Hills from the Summer of 2014, is relevant today (it even had some secrets recently unveiled, we wrote about them), even with Konami having had the game wiped from the PlayStation Store. Reedus said that he’s happy Silent Hills never came to fruition, though (we discussed this earlier this month).
We have no idea what is happening – it’s unlikely Kojima got something with Konami. Is it going to be a new IP? Is it going to be a sequel to Death Stranding? We’ll eventually see…
