After Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy remastered the first three PS1 games, and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled taking care of the fourth title on the platform, it’s about time the publisher is considering working on a new episode.
Multiple social media influencers have received surprise packages by Activision that contained Christmas-themed Crash Bandicoot products, complete with Crash wearing a Santa Claus hat. There are one (or two) tweet(s) that show photos of said products.
„7 large-scale influencers have just received Crash products with little Santa hats on them out of the blue. Strap in and hang on. Things are about to go nuts. Last year was something EXTREMELY similar. Remember the Crash Christmas Cookies? These are Christmas Crash Products… Also, the cookies Came December 5th last year (my time) and it’s currently December 6th. It’s too similar and too close to be a fluke,” the tweets say.
Two possibilities are there. One of them that the new Crash Bandicoot game might be announced on December 10, during Sony’s State of Play (that we could call Sony Direct too), and the other option is that it could be one of the fifteen announcements of The Game Awards 2019 (Geoff Keighley, the host and producer of the show has revealed that figure).
Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy has sold more than ten million units, according to Activision Blizzard since the 2017 launch, and while we haven’t heard official figures of Spyro Reignited Trilogy, which similarly to the Crash package, remastered the first three Spyro games on the PS1, that one might have sold just as well.
It’s about time Crash is getting a new game, but let’s hope it is going to stay true to the classic formula, as starting from Twinsanity 1.5 decades ago, the series went astray, and multiple games were cancelled in the past decade as well.
