More Photos Of The PlayStation 5 Dev Kit And The DualShock 5 Leaked

Sony cannot stop the leaks at all – this time, a janitor managed to take photos of the unusual-looking PlayStation 5 developer kit, as well as the next-gen PlayStation controller, which is still not officially called DualShock 5.

„[I’m] not sure [if] it’s the right place. But… [here’s] my first cleaning of prototype 1 of the PlayStation 5. Yes, my job is a cleaner occasionally at U…….. Please, do not share this!”, the screencap of the Facebook post reads.

Poor Patrick! He didn’t know what he started by sharing the images! In short time, they popped up on the PlayStation 5 subreddit, which is probably going to be a reason he’ll be fired from Ubisoft, and Sony might have a few stern words in his direction as well. On the image, we can see the Blu-ray drive on the front of the dev kit, as well as a few USB ports, not to mention the DualShock 5 controller on the montage.

And it’s quite an appropriate timing, as Sony has confirmed to have its keynote at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES). It will start at 5 PM Pacific today (8 PM Eastern, 1 AM UK time, 2 AM CET time on January 7). We can’t even guess if their talks about the future will include the PlayStation 5 or not, but it is a possibility, as during 2019’s The Game Awards, Microsoft surprised us by showcasing the Xbox Series X, the possible stronger model of the next-gen Xbox.

A quick turn here to mention a rumour: RespawnFirst reports that the PlayStation 5 will support the DualShock 4. It’s somewhat expected from Sony at this point, especially after Microsoft touting that all Xbox One peripherals (including the controllers) will be supported in the next generation as well. If Sony misses this opportunity, Microsoft might get a head start at the end of the year (when both the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X will launch).

The CES could bring us some answers.
