DualSense: It Could Be One Of The Best Controllers Ever, Techland Claims

One of the key personnel in the Dying Light 2-developing Techland studio believes that the controller that is coming with the next-gen PlayStation is going to be a significant improvement over the DualShock 4.

„I absolutely love the DualSense controller. It’s an amazing design, as futuristic as we should expect in 2020 – the sci-fi times we already live in. As for the shape, we need to see how it will fit in the hands, but looking at it I get very good vibes – I think it has a chance to be one of the best in history, just big enough but neat & funky at the same time.

I also think that the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers can be real game-changers, way more than people expect right now. I’m curious about the overall sturdiness of the thing. It looks so sleek I wonder if it will survive accidental falls and rage quits. But all in all, even though I know the initial opinions were varied, for me it’s absolutely fantastic,” Tymon Smektala, Dying Light 2’s lead gameplay designer, told PushSquare.

We’d like to point out that he said „we need to see how it will fit in the hands, but looking at it I get very good vibes,” meaning Smektala praises the controller without experiencing it. There’s optimism, and then there’s praise… also, best ever? The SNES and the original, pre-analogue PlayStation controllers were revolutionary in their respective time.

Still, we won’t have a chance to experience the DualSense controller for a while since Sony will probably not have any pre-release public demos due to the coronavirus pandemic. The controller, as well as the PlayStation 5, is planned to arrive this Holiday season. We don’t even want to think about how much the controller will cost.
