Rumours say that the new Far Cry is going to be game that Ubisoft hasn’t revealed yet and is planned to arrive by the end of March 2021. We learned a few details about it.
Previously, we wrote about how Ubisoft officially confirmed that in the 2021 fiscal year (runs from April 2020 to March 2021), they will release five AAA titles. Four of them have been known for a while: Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Rainbow Six Quarantine, Watch Dogs: Legion, Gods & Monsters. Gamereactor‘s Danish website thinks the fifth game is going to be one of the biggest Ubisoft franchises’ next instalment.
„The last [Ubisoft] game scheduled to be released before April (unless Ubisoft decides it’s this game that should be postponed due to COVID-19 or that there are too many AAA releases in a fairly short window) is set to be a Far Cry. I don’t want to ruin Ubisoft’s plans by giving you all the information, but I can say with certainty that those of you who didn’t like Far Cry 5‘s North American setting are likely to find this game more interesting when it’s officially unveiled during Ubisoft Forward on July 12,” the site says.
In short, they might push Far Cry 6 back to not have too many games launch in the October/November-March period (Ubisoft is waiting for the PlayStation 5’s and the Xbox Series X’ launch, and we already heard rumours of both consoles possibly arriving in October, but November still seems more likely), which would allow the game to get more QA testing, although the investors will demand money, and thus, the game might still be released.
It’s not confirmed yet, but seeing Ubisoft, it makes sense. However, what about Skull & Bones that was announced several years ago? When will Beyond Good & Evil 2 arrive?
