Konami’s psychological horror series, Silent Hill, has once again given a sign of life: this time, the game’s music appears in a very special form.
The merchandising of the legendary Silent Hill is still in fashion, we saw it a few weeks ago with the rabbit doll Robbie, now it is the turn of its soundtrack. Mondo has organized a handful of panels at the current Comic-Con and one of them was dedicated to the Konami horror game. In it, they communicated some interesting news for fans and has confirmed the arrival of the soundtracks on vinyl.
As the Hardcoregamer portal collects, this collection will have the soundtracks of Silent Hill and Silent Hill 2 in vinyl form. A fan asked if the third could be expected in the future and from Mondo, they confirmed that the release of that and the fourth instalment is planned. The arrival of both albums is expected in 2021 and those who want to get hold of it will have to ensure “a first row in the queue at the entrance to the stores” because those which they have previously released sold out within a few hours.
The vinyl will arrive in 2021 and watch out because there is a forecast that they will run out quickly!
The company has been delighted with the launch and has issued a message through its website detailing the details of this special edition: “Mondo is proud to present the vinyl premiere of the soundtrack of original Playstation title, Silent Hill. Don’t let the sharp, vivid tone of the mandolin fool you, this is one of the most disturbing soundtracks we’ve ever released.”
However, little can be said about the Silent Hill universe, there is currently no news about the next-gen version, nor about the future of the series. Although mangaka Junji Ito and game designer legend Hideo Kojima allegedly contacted each other about a new project, it also turned out to be just a wild rumor.
At least The Medium is on its way, a game that, in addition to having a mood similar to Konami’s horror universe, will even have Akira Yamaoka as a composer, who is the same artist who was responsible for the nerve-wracking tunes of the Silent Hill-series.
