Project xCloud also comes with a specially optimized interface for portable devices, now introduced by The Coalition with Gears 5 in action.
Project xCloud is one of Microsoft‘s flagship projects. With this service, the Redmond company intends to expand the brand and use of its games on mobile devices through the cloud. In this way, we can play the latest Xbox releases from anywhere, such as Gears 5.
Precisely The Coalition, the team responsible for the latest instalment of one of the sagas most iconic action Microsoft, has released a video – via The Verge – with which we have seen Gears 5 working perfectly on a mobile device, using the touch screen as a controller. In the video, game makers say they wanted to offer a novel approach to not just adapt the buttons on the Xbox One controller, but to create an intuitive interface that would not require players to think too hard about each action. You can see it in the following video from 39:30.
So we can see a button mapping with quick access to buttons to shoot, use covers or reload. The Gears 5 version in Project xCloud will have several layers and customization options for all tastes so that the gameplay is perfect. It is surprising both the image quality and the care when moving to the cinematic transitions, where the buttons disappear from the screen to be able to see the sequence without problems.
Although its original version looked great, Gears 5 continues to evolve and adapt almost a year after its release. Both in its version for xCloud, and in which it can be enjoyed on Xbox Series X, with visual and technical improvements that will allow it to reach 120 FPS.
