And will the three most recent Resident Evil games launch on the Nintendo Switch?
„For those asking about Resident Evil 8 [=Resident Evil: Village], from what I’ve heard, it was originally supposed to appear at the Sony State of Play at the start of August, but several things from that got pushed further back. Gamescom was a maybe, but things didn’t work out. My assumption is with a PlayStation 5 event forthcoming they will probably show it off again. I’m really curious how Capcom‘s going to handle this though as Tokyo Game Show is later in the month and Resident Evil usually has a presence there. I do know there’s an announcement for RE8 tied to Sony though,” AestheticGamer wrote on Twitter. A few things, this person was previously banned from ResetEra (we talked about it); Sony has to reveal the console’s date and pricing, and Tokyo Game Show will be another digital event.
Let’s also talk about a few other RE Engine games, namely Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Resident Evil 2 Remake, and Resident Evil 3 Remake. „I will crush one dream with my RE Engine on Switch talk: RE7, RE2 & RE3 aren’t coming to Switch. They tried to port Resident Evil 7 to Switch for a while one time but had difficulty getting any satisfactory result. RE Engine games for Switch will need to be made with Switch in mind,” AestheticGamer added on Twitter. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard IS available in Japan on Switch, though, but only via the cloud. So don’t expect Devil May Cry 5 on the Switch either…
What a shame. Resident Evil: Village will launch in early 2021 (possibly in March and not in January due to the coronavirus global pandemic) on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
