Treyarch‘s and Raven Software‘s game has a complete schedule for the beta, too.
„Weekend 1: PlayStation Early Access – Thursday, October 8, and Friday, October 9 are available for early access on PlayStation 4 to players who have pre-ordered Black Ops Cold War on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5. Weekend 1: PS4 Open Beta – Saturday, October 10, to Monday, October 12 is free to all PlayStation 4 owners. If you’ve got a PlayStation 4 and an internet connection, you should be ready to engage, though PlayStation Plus may be a requirement in some territories. Weekend 2: Xbox One and PC Early Access – Thursday, October 15 and Friday, October 16 are available for early access to anyone who has pre-ordered or pre-purchased the game on Xbox One/Xbox Series X, or PC via Blizzard Battle.net respectively. Weekend 2: PS4, Xbox One, & PC Open Beta – The second Beta Weekend is for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC owners, starting from Thursday, October 17, and running to Monday, October 19,” Activision Blizzard writes. Yes, there will be cross-play, so the current-gen consoles can play together with those who get the next-gen models.
In Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, going by the video, we will see five game modes in the beta (Combined Arms: Domination, Domination, Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, VIP Escort), and it looks like they replaced the Hardpoint mode in the alpha with VIP Escort in the beta. The maps were seen on Twitter, going by the intro video file names for each map. Satellite, Miami, Moscow, Black Sea, Tundra, Cartel. Black Sea could be the alpha’s Armada, while Tundra was previously Crossroads, possibly. Cartel, a new map, is likely hinting at Miami. (Drug cartels. Remember Scarface? It was mostly set in Miami…)
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be a cross-gen title. It’ll launch on November 13 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series (Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S), PC (as a Battle.net-exclusive), PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The PlayStation 4 > PlayStation 5 and Xbox One > Xbox Series upgrades will be free. We’d bet money on the game becoming the best-selling title of both 2020 and the Call of Duty series…
