Insomniac Games‘ next title is the cover game for Game Informer’s next issue.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales‘ Performance Mode on PlayStation 5 will have the game run on an upscaled 4K resolution and 60 frames per second, but without ray tracing (which will be replaced by SSR – screen-space reflections). The Fidelity mode is offering true 4K, but only a 30 FPS frame rate, but it also comes with ray tracing. The loading times, even during fast travel, will be nothing more than a flash.
The game is set one year after the events of the 2018 PlayStation 4-exclusive Marvel’s Spider-Man, which is why it’s considered as a true sequel because it pushes forward the plot. Peter Parker will also be present in the game, but he will act as a mentor for Miles, the current Spider-Man of the game. However, his plot will also be advancing throughout the game. You will only have Miles as the playable character. The intro sequence will be action-packed, and it will feature Rhino (seen in the previous game), plus the previously confirmed Tinkerer. There will be other villains, too, but their number will be smaller than in the previous game.
The size of the map and the map itself is more or less the same, but Harlem, Miles’ home, has been reworked to have more authentic details. The whole city can be explored to find new crimes, but things like the puzzle lab challenges have been taken out. There will be a few suits, such as the Beginner Suit (homemade by Miles), the Gift Suit (a pyjama-like outfit), the Iconic Suit (Miles’ main gear), the Track Suit (red, black, and white suit), the 2020 Suit (LED light-up suit), and the Cat Suit (that has a backpack with a cat that can help in fights).
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales will launch on November 12 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in North America and on November 19 in Europe, respectively. The PlayStation 4 > PlayStation 5 upgrade will be free.
