Nintendo’s portable platform already got one of the games, and the second one is still in development.
We have previously seen that Japan received respective cloud versions of games such as Resident Evil 7 and Assassin’s Creed: Origins. These versions never got a Western iteration, but now, the big N turned around on the autobahn to announce such cloud versions out of nowhere. We never expected Control Ultimate Edition – Cloud Version to show up on the Nintendo Switch (with a free trial to see how it runs)! It’s already available! Thomas Puha, Remedy Entertainment‘s communications director, confirmed on Twitter that we can either pick a 60 FPS frame rate or stick to 30 FPS but with ray tracing. Nice…
IO Interactive also joined the party, but they have done so with a game that hasn’t been completed yet. They announced that Hitman III is also getting a cloud version because Agent 47 can provide some stealth kills with a piano string even on a bus. „Hitman III is the first time the Hitman series has been on Nintendo Switch and represents the dramatic conclusion to the World of Assassination trilogy. Whether players are new to the franchise or familiar with the series, they’ll enjoy a globetrotting adventure to sprawling sandbox locations as Agent 47 returns for the most important contracts of his entire career,” Nintendo’s overview says.
Control Ultimate Edition is already available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (both on the Epic Games Store and Steam), and this version is required to have a free upgrade to the next-gen version. The PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series version of the game arrives later this year. Hitman III will launch on January 20 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC (Epic Games Store – IO Interactive is self-publishing, so they might need money), PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. The Nintendo Switch version should arrive later next year.
