This game has been announced for a while, but it’s still not released yet. However, it is far closer to completion than Star Citizen and its single-player spinoff, Squadron 42.
This is a game that got a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2016, then the Shadow of the Colossus-inspired indie title popped up on Steam in Early Access in early 2019, but now, No Matter Studios’ work is getting close to completion and the eventual release.
The three developers talked a bit more about Praey for the Gods on the PlayStation Blog, explaining the differences between the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5 versions. The new Sony console will offer a 60 FPS frame rate, the graphical settings will be set to the max, the shadows will be full, and the textures will be in a higher resolution.
„Our next thought was DualSense. We had played a couple of demos from Sony showing how immersive it could be. [The] DualSense is such a big deal. Feeling your bow draw back and the resistance match on the controller’s adaptive triggers is so visceral. Feeling your feet crunch through deep snow, the tug of your sail cloth popping open as you leap into the air, or feeling the wind blow — all of these impacts are felt in your hands as you control your character.
It’s so satisfying and incredibly immersive. For a game like Praey for the Gods, it brings so many details of our world to life and makes interactions that much more compelling. We’re still digging into the DualSense controller and will continue to tune it as we polish the game for our launch,” the devs wrote about the DualSense.
Praey For The Gods is still in Steam Early Access, but it’s also in development for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, coming in the first quarter of 2021. The PS4 > PS5 upgrade will be free.
