Microsoft – seeing its success with the Xbox Smart Delivery – is preparing more.
According to Microsoft’s director of program management, Jason Ronald, who showed up on the newest Major Nelson podcast, and said that the Xbox Series X and the Xbox Series S are still young, and we should expect more updates in the next months. „As a team, we’re just really excited by this initial response from fans all around the world. At launch, we say it all the time internally, this is just the beginning. We’ve got a lot of really exciting things that are coming down the pipeline over the coming months and the coming years,” Ronald said.
„A lot is coming… we can’t say too much. I think that we’re going to have [Ronald back on the show] on sooner rather than later,” Larry Hryb (Major Nelson) added. Ronald noted that the team took a break in November after the consoles launched „to lean back and just listen to the community and listen how people are using the consoles, what they’re excited about, areas that we can improve.” The holidays are over, so they are going to work on rolling out updates.
The Redmond-based company is focused on updating the Xbox Mobile app with achievement tracking, and broadcasting updates. The DVR quality enhancements and the Quick Resume tweaks are also in Microsoft’s pipeline. „We had to disable Quick Resume, on some titles in the launch window. The team’s been working hard to be able to re-enable those titles so that people are getting that great, quick resume experience on all the titles that people are playing. These are all areas that are high priorities for us, as we’re looking at future updates over the coming months and you’ll be able to start seeing some of these experiences in the Insider rings soon,” Ronald added.
These all sound clear and concise goals, and it should help them in the long run.
