Techland has announced that they will hold a big update on March 17, revealing a few details about Dying Light 2‘s situation (we recently discussed this), but what did the Poles say?
The nearly three-minute video’s crucial part here is the end card, believe it or not. It shows 2021, meaning Dying Light 2 is planned to launch this year, and it will be self-published by Techland instead of using Warner (who published the first game). But what else is there? Well, not much: they still plan the game for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, but it might be intentional smoke screening at the moment.
„We understand you are curious about the game because you want Dying Light 2 to be as good as you have imagined. And maybe you are even a little… impatient. Because you have waited a long time for news about this. This is a huge and complex project, and we needed time to make sure it will live up to our vision. All of us here are putting our hearts into delivering a game that you will keep playing for months. We will be ready to start talking about Dying Light 2 very very soon.
The whole team needs your trust and support, as this is what motivates us. Especially now when the circumstances are hard for everyone. We are proud of having such devoted fans as you, no matter how you express your feelings. And just for you, here is a small segment of what’s coming. Please, stay with us just a bit longer, and stay safe. Thank you,” Techland said in the video below.
To us, it seems like they said nothing, just made us wait a bit more, which fuels the rumours about Microsoft acquiring them (otherwise, why should we wait a bit longer?). Until then, you can ask questions from Techland here.
