Sony wasn’t joking when they announced that Play at Home is going to get further freebies later this Spring.
We previously talked about how Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has made the PlayStation 4 remake of Ratchet & Clank from 2014 free (and you can still pick it up until March 31) to limit the number of personal contacts, which in turn reduces the spread of the coronavirus. However, Sony has expanded the line-up, as they announced on the PlayStation Blog what the next freebies will be, making it even more of a player-friendly deal.
The following titles will be available for free download from March 25 at 8:00 p.m. PT / 11:00 p.m. ET to April 22 at 8:00 p.m. PT / 11:00 p.m. ET. On PlayStation 4, these are ABZU, Enter the Gungeon, Rez Infinite, Subnautica, and The Witness. On PlayStation VR, aside from the aforementioned Rez Infinite (it has PSVR support), you can also pick up Astro Bot Rescue Mission, Moss, Thumper, and Paper Beast.
While these aren’t blockbuster SIE titles, there’s one more game we need to mention. This one will make up for it: Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition will be available for free download between April 19 at 8:00 p.m. PT / 11:00 p.m. ET to May 14 at 8:00 p.m. PT / 11:00 p.m. ET. This is Sony’s way to hype the sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, which is in development for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 (and is planned to launch in 2021, but is rumoured to arrive in 2022 instead).
And we’ll quote the final deal from Sony: „Don’t forget: in participating countries, we’re also offering an extended trial of Funimation (or Wakanim, depending on region), a joint venture of Sony Pictures Entertainment and Aniplex of Japan. The anime-focused subscription service includes shows such as My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Attack on Titan, and Fruits Basket. This extended trial offer kicks off on March 25 and is available through April 22.”
Keep in mind: after you download the titles, they will be in your account even after the deal ends.
