Microsoft might be revealing its plans about PC gaming shortly, and since the company happens to be responsible for a certain operating system, it’d make sense…
„I believe Microsoft will be doing an update about its commitment to PC gaming. There’s a lot of good news around Microsoft and Xbox […] but whenever someone has a criticism […] it’s that the PC side of Game Pass doesn’t seem quite as good. […] I’m sure they’ll talk about that, but they’ll also, in general, speak in platitudes about how they feel about PC gaming overall and how much it means to them.
This is not an event, this is not a big showcase, this is probably a blog post or something like that. Maybe they could talk about their plans for the Windows Store and how they plan to update that stuff because there were talks along those lines before, but maybe that’s not ready yet,” VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb said during The Game Mess Show. This reveal could happen on April 29.
One logical thought could be the full launch of the cloud on PC (Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Cloud Gaming = xCloud), which recently started its beta along with the iOS testing (we discussed this before), but since the beta launched recently, it wouldn’t make much sense to already exit this phase.
Grubb believes Ubisoft+, the French publisher’s subscription service (which is essentially EA Play but in a different coat of play) could join Xbox Game Pass. He says Ubisoft and Microsoft have held talks, but he doesn’t know how they ended. Still, Grubb believes some of the Ubisoft titles will join Microsoft’s service.
All we can do is wait. We will learn about these details shortly. Ubisoft+ seems logical at the moment.
