CINEMA NEWS – Sony has published a new photo from the Uncharted film that was announced over a decade ago, but something’s missing.
New York Times is responsible for the publication of the image below. On it, we see Nathan Drake (formed by Tom Holland) and Victor Sullivan (Sully, formed by Mark Wahlberg, who admittedly grew too old to be Drake). The image itself is quite average if we look at the environment, and Sully isn’t perfect either.
Sully’s face happens to lack the moustache, and he also doesn’t have grey hair. However, since Drake is confirmed to be a young one, we can let that slide: Sully won’t be as aged as say, in Uncharted 3, but this doesn’t look like anything else than Wahlberg himself. Perhaps this is why the actor decided to post an Instagram video, sporting a moustache, saying „Don’t ask. Don’t f____ng ask!” And it’s best to have a comparison as well.
Sully will likely sport the moustache later in the film, which could explain Wahlberg’s comment. The staff is somewhat confirmed: aside from Holland and Wahlberg, we will see Sophia Taylor Ali as Chloe Frazer, and Antonio Banderas and Tati Gabrielle in unspecified roles. The director is Ruben Fleischer, and the writers are the team helmed by Art Marcum and Matt Halloway.
Uncharted will debut on February 11, and we better not see any more delays from this point. And you might be asking whether Sony is planning to bring other IPs to the cinema. Well, Twisted Metal and Ghost of Tsushima have been confirmed to get some TV/film adaptations, but regarding God of War, a Sony spokesperson said that they don’t have any plans to work with Kratos and Atreus at the moment, despite rumours about God of War also getting a cinematic treatment. Oh well.
