MOVIE NEWS – This Monday 31 May, Clint Eastwood celebrates his 91st birthday! He was married twice and is the father of eight children, some of whom have already been seen in some of his films.

Clint Eastwood is, without a doubt, one of the last great figures of Hollywood cinema. From the 1950s onwards, he appeared in more than seventy feature films, including Sergio Leone’s famous Man With No Name Trilogy and Don Siegel’s five films about the intractable Inspector Harry Callahan. In 1971, he decided to go behind the camera for the first time by directing A Chill in the Night in which he played alongside Don Siegel. In total, he directed some forty feature films for which he received no less than four Oscars, five Golden Globes, three Césars and the Palme d’honneur at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. A record of achievements that makes you dizzy… Having become a true icon, Clint Eastwood has obviously known several women in his life. At just twenty-three, he married Maggy Johnson with whom he had two children: Kyle and Alison. They separated in 1978 and their divorce was finalized in 1984. He then met Roxanne Tunis who gave birth to a baby girl, Kimber. Between 1975 and 1989, he shares the life of the actress Sondra Locke before divorcing and marrying Jacelyn Reeves, a flight attendant with whom he will have two children: Scott and Kathryn. Their relationship did not last and the actor fell into the arms of actress Frances Fisher who gave birth to a little Francesca in 1993. In 1996 he finally married presenter Dina Ruiz, with whom he had another daughter named Morgan. But their marriage did not last and the couple divorced in 2014. He is also the father of Laurie Murray, the result of an extramarital relationship while he was with Maggie Johnson. The latter will take more than thirty years to find out the identity of her father.

As the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, the actor’s offspring naturally turned to the seventh art. His eldest daughter Kimber has embarked on a career as a make-up artist and producer. His son Kyle is a famous musician who has played in Michael Cimino’s The Stalker, Olivier Assayas’s Summer Hours and four of his father’s films, including the famous On the Road to Madison. He has also composed the soundtracks for several of his films including Mystic River, Million Dollar Baby, Gran Torino and Invictus. His sister Alison also starred in several of their father’s films, including Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil and The Mule. She also directed a feature film in 2007, Rails and Ties, starring Kevin Bacon, for which her brother provided the soundtrack. At thirty-five, Scott Eastwood already has a busy filmography, having starred in Memories of Our Fathers, Gran Torino and Invictus, directed by his father, but also in Fury alongside Brad Pitt, Suicide Squad, Snowden and Pacific Rim Uprising. He is currently starring in Guy Ritchie’s latest project, Angry Man. Francesca Eastwood was seen in Guilty and Jersey Boys before appearing in the third seasons of Fargo and Twin Peaks. Like the Coppola and Barrymore families, the Eastwood family is definitely one of the great dynasties of American cinema.
