With Lost Judgment set for release at the end of next month, SEGA has unveiled a new trailer at Gamescom 2021.
Set in the same universe as the Yakuza series and following a critically acclaimed debut in 2019, Lost Judgment will mix combat, exploration and investigation in a contemporary Japan (who said Shenmue?). SEGA said that a longer version of the trailer released at Gamescom will be available soon.
An unfinished case from 4 years ago. A man who takes justice into his own hands. A corpse left without culprits. Lost Judgment will arrive next month as the sequel to the judicial thriller from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, the creators of the Yakuza saga. And for you to step into the shoes of detective Takayuki Yagami in his search for the truth, the opening gala of Gamescom 2021 has brought us a new extended trailer of Lost Judgment history full of intrigue and excitement.
In Lost Judgment, we will investigate the murder of Hiromu Mikoshiba. While the main suspect is Akihiro Ehara, who alerted authorities to the corpse’s existence, his perfect alibi makes it impossible to blame him for the death. Furthermore, a gang of masked criminals decides to hunt down Yagami and his allies when they get too close to the truth. How are all the pieces of this puzzle connected? What is the truth behind MIkoshiba’s death?
All the ingredients needed for a detective thriller through the Japanese underworld, with the style so characteristic of Yakuza games and a police twist to keep you on the edge of your seat. Of course, Lost Judgment will combine the investigations with the typical Yakuza minigames, the crazy submissions, the quirky characters and the bare-knuckled street fights that we know so much about from the saga.
Lost Judgment will be released on PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series on September 24th 2021. The game will be compatible with Smart Delivery on Xbox and will also offer a free upgrade option from PS4 to PS5.
