Top Gun: Maverick, unfortunately, got delayed until May 27 2022, which resulted in the Top Gun themed DLC for Flight Simulator also is getting a delay from November 2021 to May 2022.
Since the DLC was always supposed to come out at the same release date as the movie, it is no surprise that Microsoft and Asobo Studio have confirmed that the expansion will be delayed to match the movie’s new release date.
Paramount announced the delay of the movie a couple of days ago, and Asobo, after this announcement, also just announced on a blog post that the DLC for Microsoft’s Flight Simulator is also getting delayed because of this:
“Paramount Pictures recently shifted the release date of Top Gun: Maverick to Memorial Day weekend, May 27, 2022. As we have previously announced, the Top Gun: Maverick expansion for Microsoft Flight Simulator for Windows 10 PC, Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Game Pass will be released alongside the movie. We look forward to sharing more information.”
Sadly this means that we will not be able to try out those awesome fighter jets this year, that were shown on this year’s E3 reveal trailer:
