After a complicated development, the Starbreeze game: Payday 3 promises to be ready by 2023.

Starbreeze already warned us in 2017 that we should not expect PayDay 3 very soon. The studio announced the start of production of the third instalment of the successful cooperative action franchise, confirming this year that the game would arrive in 2023 from the hand of Koch Media, which invested 50 million euros in saving the project from a very delicate economic situation.

The studio has managed to keep its fans excited about the project since the acquisition of the franchise, with such popular decisions as to the disappearance of microtransactions in PayDay 2, a policy that it promises to maintain in this new instalment, of which we have not had too much information throughout these years.

But Starbreeze wanted to celebrate the tenth anniversary of PayDay: The Heist with a broadcast collected by VGC, with the studio director, Erik Wonnevi, who has confirmed some details of the expected third instalment of the saga. The story takes place years after PayDay 2 and will feature the original gang: Dallas, Hoxton, Chains, and Wolf.

The story will be updated to the digital age, tackling topics such as mass surveillance, the Dark Web, and new assets like cryptocurrencies. Starbreeze also showed a contemporary concept art with the four characters and the confirmation of New York as the setting where the action will begin in PayDay 3.
