The Unforgivable: Sandra Bullock Leaves Prison, But The Prosecution Continues To Haunt Her

It looks like with The Unforgivable, Sandra Bullock could be another Netflix hit with a more challenging role. The actress already had a big performance in Bird Box, but she might be even more impressive in her new film.

Sandra Bullock returns to Netflix in a harder-hitting drama, taking on the role of Ruth Slater, a woman newly released from prison who searches for the sister she raised. Her back is against the wall in a community that despises her crime of unforgivable murder.

Netflix’s official synopsis reads, “Released from prison after serving a sentence for a violent crime, Ruth Slater (Sandra Bullock) re-enters a society that refuses to forgive her past. She must face a harsh sentence from the place she once called home. Her only hope for redemption is to find the estranged little sister she was forced to leave behind.”

The star-studded cast joins Sandra Bullock, including Vincent D’Onofrio, Jon Bernthal, Viola Davis, Richard Thomas, Linda Emond, Aisling Franciosi, Rob, Emma Nelson, Will Pullen and Thomas Guiry. Peter Craig wrote the screenplay, which bodes well for the film. His credits include The Hunger Games – Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2, The Batman and the highly anticipated Top Gun: Maverick.

Sandra Bullock is a busy actress as she also stars in the Lost City of D alongside Brad Pitt, Channing Tatum, Daniel Radcliffe and Da’Vine Joy Randolph. In the film, a reclusive romance novelist is on a book tour with her cover model when they become embroiled in a kidnapping attempt that leads them both on a bloody jungle adventure. The film is expected to hit cinemas in March 2022.

Sandra Bullock has already surprised audiences with her Netflix film Bird Box. Bullock said that she wanted to make a film that her children could watch, but overall the film was a big hit. In case you missed it, it tracks a mysterious force that decimates the population, and only one thing is sure: if you see it, you die. The survivors must now avoid confronting a creature that takes the form of their worst fears. Seeking hope and a new beginning, a woman and her children embark on a perilous journey through the forest and across the river to find the one place that can offer them sanctuary. To do so, they must hide their eyes from the evil that pursues them… and they must travel blindfolded.

Let’s see if lightning strikes Bullock twice! The Unforgivable hits cinemas on 24 November and Netflix on 10 December.
