Universal Pictures has confirmed that they will make the fact-based film about the recent evacuation of Afghanistan starring Tom Hardy and Channing Tatum

Screenwriter George Nolfi (The Bourne Ultimatum, Hidden Destiny and Spectral) presented an exciting project about Afghanistan and has been picked up by Universal Pictures. One of the big attractions is that it will have a spectacular cast led by Tom Hardy and Channing Tatum.

The film will be based on true stories. It will focus on three former special forces team members who return to a troubled area along with Afghan soldiers to rescue families and allies left behind amidst the rapid fall of Afghanistan in August 2021. So it will be perfect for the two actors as they have proven to handle themselves very well in fast-paced action films. In addition, Tom Hardy and Channing Tatum will also produce the movie alongside Jules Daly, as well as Free Association’s Reid Carolin and Peter Kiernan, with George Nolfi on board as executive producer.

It seems that the film studio wants a third actor for the film and could have Jake Gyllenhaal, John Krasinski or Pablo Schreiber. But this has not yet been confirmed.

Tom Hardy and Channing Tatum are in a good moment in their respective film careers. Both actors have many exciting projects. For example, Tom Hardy has just released Venom: There Will Be Carnage and will probably do the third instalment, plus we get to see him in Gareth Evans’ Havoc which is about a drug deal gone wrong, and a bruised detective must fight his way through a criminal underworld to rescue a politician’s estranged son while unravelling a deep web of corruption and conspiracy that ensnares his entire city. He will also shoot War Party, although there is not much information yet on this Andrew Dominik film.

While Channing Tatum had a small part in Free Guy, but will also lend his voice to Dog and make The Lost City, where a lonely romance novelist on a book tour with her cover model gets caught up in a kidnapping attempt that leads them both on a fierce jungle adventure. This film will have a great cast with Brad Pitt, Daniel Radcliffe and Sandra Bullock.
