The community appreciates the ideas of creative genius Hideo Kojima, so even his most minor hints are a source of hope.
Fact is, Hideo Kojima tends to shroud all his projects in mystery, but there’s no doubt that he’s at work. He recently commemorated the anniversary of Metal Gear 3 by sharing some anecdotes from the development process, but the creative mind is already looking ahead to two new games, about which he’s already revealed some very general details.
Kojima himself said as much during a short Q&A with Famitsu, which over 100 Japanese game developers attended. Here, the legendary developer revealed that two titles are in the pipeline, a “big one” and a “new one full of challenges”. Well, that’s all we know about the details of Kojima’s upcoming adventures, as he didn’t reveal much more.
He also talked about his predictions for entertainment beyond video games and believes that streaming will continue to have a significant impact on both art creation and running a business, which is a bit reminiscent of the new division of Kojima Productions. Finally, the Japanese creative expressed that he is looking forward to getting back to work after the pandemic, which will speed up and make the various processes more flexible.
Of course, the master didn’t give too much detail about what he’s up to, as there may be games that won’t see the light of day in 2022… and knowing him, it’s pretty likely that he’ll take the time to develop them. In any case, it is good to see that he is not idle.
