A Final Fantasy VII scene out of the blue has caused scandalous moments for some and moments of humour for others.
The Italian Senate is holding a virtual meeting, which is understandable given the coronavirus pandemic (as it is the omicron variant that is doing the trick although not supposed to cause severe symptoms). On Monday, they did so, and many academic, medical and scientific professionals sat down to provide the senators with data. In other words, a typical briefing session happened.
It was typical until someone got into the meeting to start broadcasting a Final Fantasy VII-themed adult video with Tifa Lockheart. A speaker was giving the research results when suddenly the video switched to what could be called adult content in the ero anime genre (it can’t be called hentai since it’s a scene rendered with Unreal Engine instead of animation). In the video, Tifa has intercourse with an unknown male character, and in the background, you can hear a senator asking “what is this?” questions. The answer? Rule 34. That’s precisely it: characters in sexual situations.
The speaker quickly realised what was going on, asking the organisers to remove the unwanted guest, which was done in short order. Giorgio Parisi, winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics last year, was also virtually present at the meeting. Maria Laura Mantovani, a senator, told AdnKronos that she was reporting the matter to the police because “a porn film” had appeared on the screen of the conference in the Senate (which was located in Palazzo Giustiniani). She considers the events as a real attack and hopes that the authorities will identify the perpetrator.
“Zoom attacks” can be relatively common these days, and although most of the time nothing happens, Mantovani may be taking it too seriously. There may have been people who just laughed at the whole thing, and since everything went off without a hitch afterwards, no serious damage was done. And for anyone who might want to see what happened, we deliberately didn’t embed it, as there is a substantial 18+ material in the video, which you can see on Twitter… and as it turns out, there was… another scene.
