Colourful visuals and great freedom are showcased in the trailer for The Seven Deadly Sins new game
Nanatsu no Taizai, or The Seven Deadly Sins as it is known in the West, has been one of the most popular manga and anime franchises in recent years. With paper publications for almost a decade and a successful anime, the franchise already had a discreet adaptation developed by Natsume Atari and distributed by Bandai Namco, and a card and turn-based combat game, The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross, but this time they are looking to go a step further with an ambitious new project.
Gematsu has reported on this new open-world game from Netmarble. The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, has been presented with a complete gameplay video where we have been able to see some of the characters of the series running through an extensive world with great freedom and facing combat against multiple enemies.
The game is undeniably reminiscent of titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and also Genshin Impact, where flat shadows and vivid colour surround us as we traverse our environment. In the trailer, we got to see Meliodas, our protagonist, diving into deep waters to search for treasure, as well as climbing rocks with a stamina bar, very much in the vein of our beloved Link.
The trailer also shows off some of the combat dynamics, with close and long-range attacks between characters in intense group battles against giant enemies. The combat style is fast and fluid, with dodges, special attacks, skills and magics. Exploration of the environment has its own mechanics where our team members will help us reach inaccessible areas. Although no estimated date has been set yet, this promising title is coming to PC, consoles, and mobile devices.
