MOVIE NEWS – The new Uncharted IMAX poster reveals some of the locations that Nathan Drake will discover during his journey
A new IMAX poster for Uncharted shows some of the places audiences will visit in the adventure film. The film, which arrives in cinemas in the first half of February, is a live-action adaptation of the popular video game franchise of the same name. The Uncharted franchise, which launched in 2007 and now includes nearly a dozen cross-platform games, follows adventurer Nathan Drake as he unravels the mysteries of history and searches for long-lost treasure.
Tom Holland will play a younger version of Nathan Drake in the upcoming film. He will be joined by Mark Wahlberg (who originally played Nathan Drake in the cancelled 2010 version of the film) as Sully, Drake’s mentor. Antonio Banderas, Sophia Ali, Tati Gabrielle, Pilou Asbæk and YouTuber ElrubiusOMG round out the rest of the cast. The film will be a prequel to the first Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and will follow Drake on his quest for Magellan’s gold and his attempts to find his long-lost brother Sam, who is searching for the treasure.
A new IMAX poster shows Holland’s Drake fighting for his life after falling out of a plane without a parachute. You can also check out some of the various locations where the film was shot below. Assuming Drake visits them all, the list includes Manhattan, Barcelona, Paris, Rome, Agra, Giza and Singapore.

“I’ve shot much bigger stunts in Uncharted than I ever have before,” Holland said in a report about the plane scene. “Sometimes I found myself 100 feet in the air, strapped to a spinning box, and then I was practically hanging on to it until I got thrown off. And it was very scary, but I think that level of fear makes the scene even more authentic… It’s the hardest action sequence I’ve ever done.”
Fans who have been looking forward to this film for years will no doubt enjoy flipping through this poster and discovering the allusions to the games that are on it. Although the American and European cities featured on the poster aren’t particularly special for an adventure film, it’s safe to assume that Uncharted will spend more time in the other suggested locations. The inclusion of Agra and Giza means chaos will ensue in the Great Pyramids and the Taj Mahal, which will no doubt provide a thrilling spectacle on the level that fans of the game can expect.
